So, you know Destylio are creative web design specialists…right? However, did you know that we also offer a large range of design for print services? Well, we do!
We got a nice surprise this afternoon when a recently completed print design order rolled up at our office door (we also handle print management as well, but that’s for another time), and there were two nice brown boxes waiting for our signature.
What was in boxes the box I hear you ask…..
Well the contents were to be revealed as 25 pads of triplicate invoice paper that we had designed for our lovely client the ‘Carpet Centre’ in Nuneaton, near Coventry. They have already asked us to create their new website (which is happening very soon), however they have also taken advantage of all our other design expertise so that all of their promotional material is dealt with under one roof. We have designed and managed the printing of their letterheads, business cards and notepads too.
The triplicates were possibly the most challenging item to design though. With business forms, commonly all attempts at creativity are abandoned because ‘you can’t possibly be creative with one colour print’. Well, this isn’t the Destylio way! We apply the very same amount of creativity to all our work and we have created an order form that whilst still simple enough in order to serve its key purpose, we feel it fits in with the company image and also is a little more interesting than their old one. What do you think?
So, why is our design better? We think these are the key reasons:
-
The use of white text out of solid black rather than always just having black text. This adds lots of contrast to the form which guides the eyes all over the paper.
-
The introduction of a faded image of the shop front in the background of the order form. This is light enough to not interfere with any writing added but dark enough to give these forms some pizazz!
-
The typography is scaled much better, meaning the form has a much more professional overall feel. The address, for instance, at the top of the page, is much better at the size we have done it, previously it was a little overpowering.
-
The green top sheet makes a lot of difference too, something that commonly people would always do as white, but the company colour is green, so why not be creative and use it where possible?
We think this just goes to show that with business forms, whilst they don’t need to be massively elaborate, at the same time they don’t have to be boring!
